What do you get when you mix women’s fashion, finger painting art and motherhood? The answer is Something Beautiful

Hatched in far away Prague during a Spotlight Singapore business trip led by my friend art administrator Colin Goh, this collaborative effort came about when Singapore fashion designer Kay Wong of online fashion retailer Milky Way teamed up with finger-painting artist Adeline Yeo. Through the partnership, Kay and Adeline combined their creative and entrepreneurial talents in a business venture that infuses the beauty of art into ladies wear targeted at mothers.


From Wet Markets to Web Markets

As my wife and I were having our breakfast and purchasing fresh groceries recently at the Redhill Market, I spotted this interesting signboard from a fish monger in the market. Apparently Pan’s Fish offers fresh fish for sale (the kind you can cook) on its website and you can actually order them via e-commerce.

I believe they must be one of the first wet market stalls to be so proactive in encouraging online ordering. The cool thing is that if you can’t make it during the unearthly wet market opening hours, you can always get your catch of ikan kurau, salmon, mackerel, prawns and more online, 24 by 7.

Now all they need is a blog, a Facebook fan page, and a Twitter account….


China Conquering the Virtual World?

Following a tip-off from Jessica Greenwood at the recent Verge event, I went to do some online sleuthing to find out more about China’s ambitious plans to create the world’s largest virtual world.

In case you do not know, the number of internet users in China has already eclipsed that of the United States, and blogging has taken the huge country by storm. More and more Chinese are relying on online sources of information, opinions and news. E-commerce has also taken off with predictions that more than a million internet entrepreneurs may be born.
