Bloggers posing for the camera with Tiffany Goh from Coke
Celebrate the upcoming London 2012 Olympic Games with Coca-Cola and McDonald’s. Global partners since 1955, the two leading consumer brands are worldwide partners of the upcoming Games in London, and are offering customers a limited edition set of 6 “Coca-Cola London 2012 Olympic Games” glasses.
Embossed with the official London 2013 Olympic Games sport pictogram – Gymnastics, Athletics, Swimming, Basketball, Football and Cycling – the glasses come in pink, green, blue, aqua, charcoal and purple. They are available in over 120 McDonald’s restaurants in Singapore with every purchase of a large Extra Value Meal (excluding breakfast) from today onwards. A different design will be released each week.
To launch the campaign, Coke and McDonald’s organised a blogger gathering at a McDonald’s outlet at Ang Mo Kio. Here are some highlights of the event.
In characteristic Coke fashion, we started off with a “pop quiz” on Coca-Cola. Here’s a sample question – see if you can get it right.
Next, we viewed a series of videos on the Coca-Cola London Olympics commercial and how it was made.
Here’s the commercial above for your viewing – and listening – pleasure. It was interesting to note how producer Mark Ronson took special care to incorporate some of the sounds of the sports (swooshing, thunking, thudding…you get the drift) into the commercial.
The stars of the commercial. See if you can recognise who the home-grown Olympian is…
Here’s a closer “shot” of one of Singapore’s Olympian. Give up? Well, he is none other than archer Abdul Dayyan bin Mohamed Jaffar.
Here’s Dayyan Jaffar in the flesh, receiving a bouquet from Coke Singapore’s June Kong together with his mum. I’m sure she must be very proud of him!
Finally, we were treated to a collection of Coke glasses over the years. Apparently, this is one of the highly sought after collectors’ item.
The full set of the 2012 Coke glasses for your viewing pleasure.
Naturally, the night was full of burgers, fries, nuggets, and Coke of course. I loved the taste of the Coke float specially made for us in a Coke glass.
thanks for sharing..
