Hi Walter,

First of all, thanks for the post. It does expand my appreciation on what's behind the "business" of a museum.

I am not in the field. My inputs are minimal. However, from a visitor's perspective, I value museums that (1) provide a good art collection that inspires and (2) provide education - either through guided tour or audio guide - for better art appreciation. In my humble opinion, only if art appreciation is imbued in our culture do we have a chance to cultivate the seeds of art creation without our society. It should be one of our favorite past time to visit a museum. Like once a month or so with our family and friends (that's why in some museums, it is free admission on certain days of the month?).

Of course I am only looking at the part about art appreciate and probably less so on the heritage. Simply because I am drawn more to the art masterpiece than some old artifacts.
