I think the worst part about this entire episode is that people will become more wary about giving to charities. This will especially affect those who are deserving and real hardship cases.

Seems like Durai isn't the only one who mingled with the elites, LOL.

Your last sentence "Hopefully, the law will be amended to increasingly protect whistle blowers, whom I hope will sound the clarion earlier rather than later" made me feel really sorry for the two early whistle blowers who got successfully sued for saying that Durai flew first class on business trips. Damn it and damn the system.

I think we must differentiate between NKF and the civil service. Mr TT Durai and “his cronies” are not public servants. Neither are the board of directors.

NKF is a non-profit organisation registered as a charity. It operates by a different set of rules which are governed by its own board and management team. I wouldn’t want to draw analogies between NKF and the civil service since we are talking about very different things here.

Interesting to note, one person deceptive ways, a corporate failure, can lead to an unveiling of an ungly truth about our civil service and its leaders. You will find that very few(if at all) will stand up for the next guy in defend of truth, integrity of the system or what have you.
It puts to question the kind of people we have breed the past 40 yrs through our laughable meritocratic system.

I hope the PR dept of MOE could read this, those 's_ a_ ' avoid answering your questions, or ignor you, afraid of being sued. Same for some of the PRs in certain Ministries.

And most civil servants won't apologise even if they are wrong.

Our civil service still has a long way to go. I don't see much ethics & professionalism in our cs. So the ppl think why should we observe that?

Durai has the privilege to mingle with the elites so he knows how to manipulate the system. There are many Durais out there, maybe not as daring as he,yet, but unchecked they are growing day by day......
